Who is NOT eligible to receive a NUTS! McAuliffe Society Scholarship?

• Graduating Seniors who will not be an active member for at least one term / semester following the Conclave.

• A Chapter Delegate or Alternate Delegate.

• Active Student National Board of Directors, Alumni, Volunteers, Graduate Students, Fraternity and Conclave Staff Personnel including Undergraduate Faculty or Chairmen who have expenses paid for by the fraternity.
  

My chapter is not selecting the Delegate and Alternate Delegate before your application deadline, should I still apply?

YES! If your application is selected as one of our semi-finalists your status is verified prior to the award. If you later become the delegate or alternate delegate, the committee will consider, but not guarantee, awarding this scholarship to another applicant from your chapter. So encourage others from your chapter to apply.

Can more than one applicant from a chapter win the scholarship?

YES! All applications are ranked and if 2 applications from the same chapter are in the semi-final pool, both will win a scholarship if they can attend Conclave.

I am not sure I will be able to attend Conclave, but I would like to go. Should I apply?

YES! Once the applications are ranked from first to last, applicants are contacted in rank order to confirm they are able to attend the Conclave.

What is covered by the NUTS! McAuliffe Scholarship?

Each Conclave cycle we endeavor to reach as many undegraduates as we can with our fundraising, however typically, we like to offer three different types of award:

• Our Top Prize Award(s) covers the Conclave Registration fee, the Hotel Costs for one person for 4 nights in a hotel room shared with at least one other Sig Ep brother, and a Travel Stipend up to the Regional Travel Allocation being offered by the Headquarters Staff to Volunteers.

• Our 2nd Place Award(s) covers the Conclave Registration fee and the Hotel Costs for one person for 4 nights in a hotel room shared with at least one other Conclave attendee.

• All remaining Scholarships will cover the Conclave Registration fee only.

Is my Conclave Scholarship transferrable to an individual of my choice?

It depends. If you or your chapter has won one of the Carlson Leadership Academy raffled Scholarships, YES! The Chapter can allocate this award to anyone who is not the delegate or alternate delegate, by coordinating that change with the Headquarters Staff Members in charge of Conclave Registration.

Otherwise No, the Scholarship Awards Committee will determine the next scholarship recipient. They will take into consideration any requests made by the applicant, but the committee’s determination is final.

My Chapter is a recent SEC, will I stand a chance of winning?

YES! SEC Chapter applications compete in 2 Application Pools: The general application pool, plus a second scholarship pool exclusively designated for SEC Chapters.

I just joined the Fraternity and don’t have much of a fraternity resume, do I still stand a chance of winning?

YES! The Applications have an adjustment factor so younger members with less time to build a resume can compete with senior members of the chapter. After all, younger members can share their Conclave learnings and experience with future generations longer than a senior member, so the return on this scholarship investment is greater!
